About Familial

Familial lets family members share photos and voice messages and helps older loved ones check in with a simple action. Brubytes is based in Belgium. These terms cover the app and this website. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

Accounts and family access

Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials, invitations, and device pairing codes private. Only connect a device or invite someone when you are authorised to do so. If you help a loved one set up Familial, explain what is shared and respect their choices.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Familial. If local law requires permission from a parent or legal representative to enter into these terms, obtain that permission. When assisting another person, only act with their permission or appropriate legal authority.

Your photos and recordings

You retain your rights in the content you share. You give Brubytes the limited permission needed to store, process, and deliver that content to provide Familial according to your sharing settings. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.

Only upload content you are entitled to share. Do not share unlawful, abusive, or infringing material, impersonate someone, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with the service. Respect the privacy and permissions of everyone shown or heard in your moments.

Check-ins are not emergency monitoring

Familial is not a medical device, professional care service, emergency response service, or guarantee of someone’s wellbeing. A check-in records an action in the app. It cannot confirm a person’s health or safety.

Notifications, location information, and help requests can be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate because of connectivity, device settings, or service interruptions. Do not rely on Familial for an urgent response. Contact local emergency services directly in an emergency.

Privacy and device permissions

Our privacy policy describes the information processed by the app and website. Your device settings control permissions such as notifications, microphone, camera, and location. Some features need the corresponding permission to work.

Availability and changes

Features may change as Familial develops. Access can be affected by maintenance, technical issues, device compatibility, or third-party services. Material changes to the service or these terms should be communicated with reasonable notice where required by law.

Leaving Familial

You can stop using Familial and use the available account-deletion controls. Deleting a paired device account does not delete the entire family or moments shared by other members. Contact Brubytes for help.

Access may be restricted where necessary to address misuse or protect other people and the service, subject to applicable law. Any required notice and opportunity to resolve an issue must be respected.

Consumer rights and responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be limited. Belgian law applies, without depriving consumers of any mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence.

Store downloads and charges

Familial is currently free to use. If paid features are introduced, their prices and conditions will be explained before you choose to purchase them. You will not be charged automatically for using the current free service. When downloading Familial, the relevant app store’s terms also apply. This website does not offer checkout or take payments.
